Hall Street Grill (3775 SW Hall Blvd., Beaverton)

add to kirtsy

I ate at Hall Street Grill back in March and kept forgetting to write about it. I can't believe I kept forgetting to write about it, because it certainly was not easy to forget the luscious meal I ate that night.

The service was superb - the waitress knew the menu pretty much by heart and made recommendations that we wouldn't have even known about. For example, when I ordered the Butternut Squash Ravioli, she recommended ordering grilled prawns with it (this was not on the menu). I wouldn't have thought of that and let me tell you, I am indebted to her for my new courageousness for eating seafood.

They looked like prawns when I got my dinner, but they tasted like little steaks. Amazing doesn't even cut it. It was SO good. We also shared a dessert, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was. I just know that I loved it.

I must say one more word about the waitress - she was so enthusiastic about the food - like she was in love with it and wanted to marry it. And that made me want to order everything on the menu. She was good.

Let's keep this simple: GO.

Yes, to the suburbs. To Beaverton. To Hall Street Grill. Don't be afraid! It's worth it.

Oh man -- I ate there before Prom my Junior year, back in the wilds of '99. They were so kind to the passle of us, and when they messed up my pasta (combining the two specials that night, resulting in a super spicy alfredo) they comped it and gave me and my date free dessert. He was thrilled, for sure, because he only had to pay for himself. And they gave us a choice table.

Beaverton kind of kills me now (HS rivalry, it was almost treason that we ate in that zipcode) but you're right, it is worth it.

(I love your site, by the way. Love it.)

Yep, the suburbs. When I first moved to Portland and hadn't quite ventured into the city, I ate here. I think this restaurant, while always busy, is misplaced because it does deserve to be in town, with all the other beautiful, delicious places. But I have to admit, I loved that it was in Beaverton when I worked across the street and could go to their amazingly cheap happy hour. Seriously, full entrees for about $3. Hall Street Grill and Henry's have some of the best happy hours out there.
