Concert Ticket Giveaway!

add to kirtsy

I love giveaways. Not that I have ever won a giveaway. But I think it's a nice idea to promote. And it's fun, too. And so to promote the great Portland that I love... I am giving away two tickets to the Crystal Ballroom on June 18th to hear Colbie Caillat, with an acoustic set by Dirty Martini (one of my fav Portland bands). Local radio station 94.7 KNRK is sponsoring this concert. For more information, click here.

All you have to do is make a comment on this post between now and May 29th. Then I will do a random drawing for the winner. The winner will be posted on May 30th. One comment per person, please.

You should tell your friends because if your friend wins, then maybe they will take you to the concert with them. That doubles your chances. Without making more than one comment. So do it. Tell your friends. This will be fun!

Regarding the previous post on Jiffy Lube...It was good to hear a company isn't out to stiff the common man. I used to take my car to that one all the time.

ok, if i win, then i get to choose some random person in your town to give the tickets to. So, you'd be out there on the street with video cam and cell phone and approaching totally random people. we'd have to ask some stupid trivia question. or just make 'em flash their butts at cars passing by.

You got it. I've just got to track down a video cam...

Katy, one of my favorite places is the Doug Fir on East Burnside. It is right next to a hip hotel that is also not too expensive, the Juniper. It is non smoking, as is a lot of venues. But really, there are a ton of small inexpensive music places in town. Depends on what kind of music you ultimately want to hear.

Katy - another thing you can do is go to www.wweek.com to check out the music listings the week that you will be in town. They always have the good shows marked. Like Sara said, there are a ton of different places to listen to music, depending on your budget and taste in music and what's going on that week!

Sarah and Lizzy- Thanks guys! Im also thinking about camping...is that a bad idea? Is there even anywhere to camp in Portland or close by? If not, do you know of any cheap hotels? Im gonna look into the Juniper, that sounds fun but my friend and I are really on a budget!

I'm not sure about camping or cheap hotels. I do have a friend who stayed at a youth hostel in the city when she first moved here, and I think that was pretty cheap. Chelsea, do you have the info on the hostel that Lindsay stayed at?

Okay, I found it - here's the website for the hostel. It's pretty cheap compared to hotels and it's in a good location, city wise - would put you right in the mix of things.
